Monticello Sportsmen Club News!

August 2008

MSC Youth participated in the MN State Shoot and also the Grand American Trapshooting Championships.  Special thanks go out to the Kitzman's for all their hard work with the Youth league.

The Youth league coach says it best "These young shooters were terrific competitors and behaved in a manor worthy of respect. They made us proud, and represented the Monticello Sportsmen Club well. Thank you for your continued support of the youth shooting program."

There are two Acrobat files with event photos and scores of the MSC Youth... MN State Shoot & Grand American.

April 2008

Clean up day was held on April 26th...it did not rain, but rather SNOWED!  We had about 10 guys show up and all the target stands were rebuilt, garage organized, Clubhouse cleaned, and clays loaded in the trap houses.  Honestly, it was blizzard-like at times.

Sunday April 27th was a much nicer day and about 5 guys showed up and worked on cutting brush along roadways and fence lines.

SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME!  If you were unable to participate in clean-up day, keep rifle site-in penciled on your calendar.  We will need volunteers for that the last two weekends before MN deer opener.

Trap league began on April 30th with a good turnout.

January 2008

Special thanks to the Monticello American Legion for hosting our annual meeting on January 8th.  During the meeting new board members were voted on and approved.  Leupold binoculars and Weatherby rifle were raffled off.  Tickets for a special edition NRA o/u SKB 28" shotgun were raffled off with the drawing to be held at this year's ATA shoot at the Club on August 16th.  Tickets are still available, please contact e-mail MSC.
